The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) dismantled the criminal group known as the “Cerdos”, allegedly linked to express kidnapping, extortion, and vehicle theft. Its members allegedly used police uniforms and a vehicle made to look like it belonged to a law enforcement agency to intercept victims in the State of Mexico (Edomex) and Hidalgo.
As part of several operational actions, FGJEM agents carried out arrest warrants against Juan “N,” alias “El Cerdo,” the alleged leader of the criminal group, as well as three other individuals identified as possible members of the organization.
How the “Cerdos” allegedly operated while dressed as police officers
One of the cases that allowed the investigation to advance occurred on August 3, 2026, in Axapusco. According to the State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office, Diego Bladimir “N” and another individual who has already been formally charged allegedly used municipal police uniforms and a vehicle made to appear official to stop the victims.

The suspects allegedly told the victims that they were conducting a protocol security inspection, creating the appearance of a legitimate police intervention.
After intercepting the victims, Óscar “N” and Raúl “N” allegedly arrived and threatened them, taking their belongings. They also allegedly forced them to make bank transfers.
While waiting for instructions from their alleged leader, one of those involved allegedly committed sexual violence against one of the victims. The alleged members of the group subsequently took the vehicle and released the victims in the municipality of Axapusco.
The Prosecutor’s Office began field and investigative operations after learning of the incident. Based on the information obtained, prosecutors identified the possible perpetrators and secured the corresponding judicial arrest warrants.

Who among the “Cerdos” was arrested?
Arrest warrants were carried out against four people:
- Juan “N,” alias “El Cerdo,” identified as the alleged leader of the criminal group
- Diego Bladimir “N”
- Óscar “N”
- Raúl “N”
The FGJEM reported that Juan “N” was transferred to the Ecatepec Penitentiary and Social Reintegration Center, while Diego Bladimir “N,” Óscar “N,” and Raúl “N” were taken to the Otumba prison.
All four were placed at the disposal of a judge, who will determine their legal status.
In addition, the Prosecutor’s Office reported the previous arrests of Gabriel “N” and Deni “N”, who are being investigated for their possible participation in the incident that occurred on August 3 in Axapusco. Both face legal proceedings for their alleged involvement in express kidnapping for the purpose of robbery and sexual violence.
Arrest warrants were also carried out against these two individuals while they were already in custody, in connection with their possible participation in another violent vehicle theft that occurred in Axapusco.
Where did the “Cerdos” operate?
Investigations by the State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office indicate that the criminal group had a presence in several municipalities in the State of Mexico as well as in Hidalgo.
The area identified by authorities includes:
- Axapusco
- Ecatepec
- Nopaltepec
- San Martín de las Pirámides
- Teotihuacán
- As well as territory in Hidalgo
One of the incidents under investigation occurred on July 13, 2026, when a person was driving a vehicle through the streets of Tecámac. According to the investigation, Juan “N,” alias “El Cerdo,” and three other individuals allegedly intercepted the victim, subdued them, and took the vehicle.
The other three individuals involved in that incident had already been arrested for a different offense, according to information provided by the Prosecutor’s Office.
The agency also links the individuals under investigation to vehicle theft, home burglary, express kidnapping, and rape, in addition to the crimes for which the recent arrest warrants were carried out.
What crimes are the detainees accused of?
The judicial warrants against the four suspects correspond to different incidents. One was issued for violent vehicle theft, while the other three are related to express kidnapping for the purpose of robbery and extortion.
The State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office emphasized that the detainees must be considered innocent unless a judicial authority issues a guilty verdict.
According to information from the agency, the crime of violent vehicle theft could carry a sentence of up to 39 years in prison, while penalties for express kidnapping for the purpose of robbery and extortion could reach up to 100 years, depending on the circumstances and determinations of the legal proceedings.
The State of Mexico Prosecutor’s Office continues its investigations to determine whether the suspects are connected to other criminal acts. To that end, it asked potential victims who recognize any of the detainees to file a complaint through the institution’s official channels.
