The Morelos State Government will launch the community tourism program “The Tourism That Unites Us” during 2026, a strategy designed to take thousands of citizens to visit the state’s main attractions without spending a single peso. The measure seeks to guarantee the right to recreation for families living in areas of high marginalization.
According to the operating rules published in the Official Gazette “Tierra y Libertad,” the project is expected to directly benefit a registry of up to 1,040 people. The support will be provided to residents of Priority Attention Zones and sectors experiencing social vulnerability in various municipalities.
What do the free experiences include?
The scheduled outings will last a full day. State authorities confirmed that the packages cover round-trip transportation from the participating communities, admission to the different venues, and the coordination of educational, sports, or environmental workshops.
The itineraries will include guided visits to natural areas, water parks, historic haciendas, archaeological sites, museums, and recreational centers in the region. The main purpose is to provide safe recreational experiences to those who do not have the financial resources to pay for a vacation.
Registry, budget, and social development
For the implementation of these activities, the state administration allocated a public budget of 500,000 pesos for fiscal year 2026. This financial allocation will cover the operational logistical costs of each trip scheduled throughout the year.
In addition to promoting family recreation, the initiative seeks to combat social isolation and strengthen the sense of community identity. Beneficiaries will be able to directly connect with the gastronomic, historical, and natural wealth preserved throughout Morelos.
