Tepalcingo, Morelos. — Residents of Ixtlilco el Grande, a community belonging to the municipality of Tepalcingo, Morelos, put up a banner at one of the entrances to the community warning that they will not allow people with their faces covered, hooded individuals, or vehicles with tinted windows to enter.
In the message, residents state that anyone considered suspicious, as well as vehicles and motorcycles entering the town to “patrol” the area, will be stopped and inspected.
The warning also establishes a maximum speed limit of 20 kilometers per hour within the community.
However, the message escalates by including a direct threat:
“THE TOWN IS UNITED! IF WE CATCH YOU, WE WILL LYNCH YOU”
The banner concludes with the phrase “Sincerely, the people of Ixtlilco el Grande,” making the residents’ position clear regarding the presence of people or vehicles they consider suspicious.
The placement of this warning reflects residents’ concerns about security in the community and their intention to remain organized in response to possible criminal activity.
