The Dismembered Bodies of Three Men Were Found Alongside the Mexico-Acapulco Federal Highway
The dismembered bodies of three men were found alongside the Mexico-Acapulco federal highway, near the community of Plan de Lima, in the municipality of Juan R. Escudero, Guerrero.
The discovery occurred at around 8:00 a.m. along the Juan R. Escudero-Plan de Lima section. According to initial reports, the remains were inside black plastic bags, while the heads were left outside the bags, on the side of the highway.
After the report, security personnel arrived at the scene and established a perimeter. Investigators from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) conducted the initial proceedings and later transferred the remains to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) in Chilpancingo.
Hours later, the Attorney General’s Office confirmed that one of the three victims was a member of the National Guard. The state agency did not provide the officer’s personal information in its statement, nor did it specify whether the attack was related to his duties.
Authorities Investigate Attack in Guerrero
The FGE reported that it is continuing an investigation to clarify the homicide of the three people and determine the circumstances under which the crime occurred.
The agency stated that in recent weeks it had strengthened, together with the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and the State Police, investigation, intelligence, and criminal analysis efforts in the Mountain, Acapulco, and Central regions.
According to the Attorney General’s Office, these actions have produced results including arrests and seizures that affect the operational capacity of some criminal structures.
The Ministerial Investigative Police and Forensic Services are continuing proceedings in the case, in addition to coordinating with federal and state authorities to establish the identities of the other two victims and determine those responsible.
So far, no arrests have been reported in connection with the triple homicide.
The discovery occurred on one of the main communication routes between Guerrero and the state of Morelos, amid a context marked by security operations against criminal groups.
The state Attorney General’s Office stated that it will continue its investigations to clarify the events and determine the corresponding responsibilities.
