More than 25,000 products allegedly associated with registered trademarks were seized at eight establishments in Puebla and Tlaxcala, as part of the so-called “Operation Cleanup,” involving merchandise with an estimated value of more than 1.8 million pesos.
The operations were carried out jointly by the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI), under the Ministry of Economy, and the Mexican Navy (Semar). The actions targeted locations previously identified as possible production, storage, or distribution centers for merchandise that allegedly infringes intellectual property rights.
In Puebla City, four establishments were targeted at different locations: China Poblana, Eco Home Market, Fun Dahlia, and Eco Market. The operations were conducted in areas including the Historic Center, the Barrio de San Antonio, San Isidro Castillotla, and the federal Puebla–Atlixco highway.

At these locations, 9,434 items were seized, including toys, stuffed animals, textiles, caps, perfumes, tumblers, and accessories. According to authorities, the products were allegedly associated with brands such as Disney Pixar, Hello Kitty, Mario Bros, Adidas, Jordan, Polo, Nike, and Puma, among others.
The estimated value of the merchandise seized in Puebla amounts to 796,654 pesos.
In Tlaxcala, the operation focused on Santa Ana Chiautempan, where four establishments were identified: ZHENG BIN TLAXCALA, Unimas, Tienda China, and Merca Asia.
At these locations, 15,571 products were seized, allegedly linked to the infringement of intellectual property rights involving the same brands, with an estimated value of 1,061,036 pesos.
The operation in both states resulted in a total of 25,005 products seized and eight establishments targeted, with a combined estimated value of 1,857,690 pesos.
IMPI, the Ministry of Economy, and the Mexican Navy stated that these actions are intended to prevent these types of products from reaching commercial distribution channels, while also strengthening legal commerce and protecting registered trademarks.
