In different areas of the municipality of Santa Catarina, in Nuevo León, residents have been without water for 4 days.

The third wave of extreme heat with temperatures above 40 degrees has had to be faced by the inhabitants of Nuevo León without a single drop of water. In different neighborhoods of the municipality of Santa Catarina and García, where the population exceeds 300 thousand inhabitants, they reported that the failure is widespread, because the reports arise from different areas.

“We are still without water, Government of Santa Catarina, Jesús Nava, here in Real del Valle, only came for a couple of hours and left again, please resolve this situation as soon as possible,” commented Fernando, a neighbor. In desperation, purified water has begun to become scarce in convenience stores located in the sectors where the problem is reported.

There are 4 days without water in areas of Nuevo León

The municipal administration reported that it maintains operations to fill buckets and drums for the affected neighbors, but it has been insufficient. The problem dates back to last Wednesday night, when an electrical storm was reported, the gusts of winds allegedly damaged the electrical system of the distribution network.

And even though three days have passed, the situation has not been resolved. “Today (Saturday), at least he arrived for a couple of hours, we thought he had already left, but no, he left again,” said an inhabitant of the Fama IV neighborhood.

In García, Nuevo León, the situation is just as dramatic; there are many neighborhoods where their inhabitants are without a single drop of drinking water. Agua y Dranaje de Monterrey has not reported the current situation; on its social networks the most recent thing it shared was a denial of a publication that talked about scheduled outages.
