Museo de Ciencias Ambientales más grande de América

During the month of November 2024, the Museum of Environmental Sciences of the University of Guadalajara will partially open, which will be the largest of its kind on the American continent and has very modern and beautiful architecture.

It is a venue in which there will be a thematic mix between science, ancient cultures, poetry and modern times. It will be made up of seven rooms with permanent exhibitions: city salsa, countryside, highlands, mountains, rivers and lakes, coast and hope room.

Likewise, there will be two rooms with temporary exhibitions, beautiful outdoor gardens, an auditorium, a laboratory, four rooms for workshops and an Educational Garden. In fact, the latter is the one that will open its doors in November, during the period of the Guadalajara Book Fair.

The reason why the entire structure will not be opened is because, according to reports, although it is 80% complete, construction has not been possible due to continuous budget cuts.

Once its construction is completed, the Guadalajara Museum of Environmental Sciences will become the largest of its kind in America. Another relevant aspect is that it is designed above all for low-income families to attend.

The facility will be a tool so that families or individuals can apply the knowledge acquired to solve everyday problems.

It is worth mentioning that the history of the creation of this Museum dates back more than 30 years, when the engineer Federico Solórzano Barreto proposed to the UDG that a Museum of Paleontology be built.

However, due to the magnitude of the project, it was not until 2001 that a Trust was established for the formal planning of the site. Later, in 2009, the concepts that would support the Museum were created.

Finally, this museum is about to become a reality to surprise the inhabitants of the region and those who come to visit.
