Mexico City Marathon 2024: date, prices and how to register

Indeporte presented the t-shirts and medals for the long-awaited race in CDMX

The Telcel 2024 Mexico City Marathon will take place on August 25, the route, which consists of 42 kilometers, 195 meters, will be the one that has been used for the last 4 editions, the exit will be located on Avenida Insurgentes Sur between the building of the Central Library and University Olympic Stadium of the UNAM and will culminate in the esplanade of the Plaza de la Constitución.

The long-awaited competition has the Marathon route record at the national level with a time of 2:08:23 set in the 2023 edition by the Bolivian Héctor Garibay Flores. Likewise, in the 2023 edition the Telcel Mexico City Marathon received the gold label from World Athletics for complying with all the organizational parameters established by the International Federation.

The official medal and t-shirt for the Telcel Mexico City Marathon and BBVA Mexico City Half Marathon 2024, was presented on May 23 at the Frontón México. Present during the event were Rodolfo Gómez Orozco, Marathon Winner in the 1987 edition; Adela Honorato Domínguez, Winner of the Half Marathon in the 2023 edition and the director of the BBVA Mexico City Marathon 2024 and the Telcel 2024 Mexico City Marathon, Rodrigo Tapia Sánchez.

Indeporte announced that in the case of the Marathon it already has 16 thousand registered runners of the 30 thousand expected participants. He highlighted that this year there is female participation close to 50 percent and that he hopes that next year parity will be reached and it will be 45, 55 percent.

Registration and delivery of kits

The call closes on Wednesday, August 21, and Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at the Expo Marathon.

700 pesos until December 31, 2023.
750 pesos from January 1, 2024 – national athletes from this call.
110 USD – foreign athletes from the call.

The expo-delivery of kits will take place on August 22, 23 and 24 in the Mexica I and II rooms at the World Trade Center.

Registrations for the CDMX 2024 Half Marathon are already sold out, however, they managed to put 500 new registrations on sale so that runners who did not get a place can run the new edition.

It should be noted that both races have certifications issued by the Council for Responsible Sport for being environmentally responsible sporting events and the Half Marathon has the Silver label and the Marathon has the Gold label.
