Oaxaca de Juárez.- For more than 40 days, residents of the northern area of ​​the capital of the state of Oaxaca have not had water, therefore, today they carried out road blockades, in order to demand responses from the authorities.

Inhabitants of the Volcanes neighborhood blocked the intersection of Proletariado Mexicano and Mártires de Cananea streets. For their part, those who live in the Infonavit 1st of May, in the fourth and fifth sections, blocked the Heroico Colegio Militar and Fuerza Aerial Mexicana streets.

They explained that they have not had a drinking water supply for 52 days and accused the director of the Drinking Water Operator System (SOAPA), Omar Pérez Benítez, of having promised them that the water would arrive a week ago.

Around noon, the blockades were removed in response to a new promise from Soapa to regularize the water supply in the coming days.
