A delegation of hoteliers attended the Arlag fair in Guadalajara with the purpose of having contact with airlines, in this way being able to promote the Mexican Caribbean and attract more visitors.
Rebeca Bravo, promotion representative of the Hotel Association of Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres, explained that travel agents and tour operators were interested in learning about the entity’s news, thereby being able to give greater strength in the coming months to one of the markets that are affected by the lack of seats.
“There were three days of work for this event organized by the Association of Airline Representatives of Guadalajara. This year, more than 200 exhibitors were invited and the Mexican Caribbean was present to continue positioning itself with the airlines, thus strengthening alliances,” she explained.
The event gained relevance after national passengers have shown a decrease to the Cancun airport, of approximately 13%, hence the importance of the promotion for the hotels of the different destinations, as well as park companies, which was accurate. since information was requested about new experiences that have been had in Quintana Roo.
She highlighted that representatives of the Quintana Roo Tourism Promotion Council were present to publicize the New Era campaign, which was recently promoted to attract tourists.
“Airlines such as AirCanada, Copa Airlines, VivaAerobus, Volaris, as well as wholesale companies and national agencies were participating in the event,” she explained.
The fair celebrated its 45th anniversary and also attracted not only national but also international participants, for which a total of 47 stands were reported, 280 travel agents from 22 states, as well as representatives from the United States, Canada, Spain, to mention some.
Rebeca Bravo explained that they will continue with the caravans nationwide, this despite the fact that they have good reservations, prior to the summer season, however, they see it as important to strengthen commercial ties and promote national tourism.
