Up to 400 dead dogs and cats a month have been collected from public roads by personnel from the Municipal Public Services Department, due to the high temperatures recorded in the state, as reported by the head of the department, Emilio González Martínez, who said that just this last week between 50 and 70 were collected.

He explained that most of these are animals that live on the street and surely due to the weather conditions that occur during the day they end up dying on public roads, since they do not present any physical damage that could be thought of as an apparent cause of death.

Just last Monday, in the vicinity of the City Center, the discovery of eight dead dogs was reported, so that means that the heat wave not only affects human beings, but is already beginning to seriously affect animals, especially those that roam the streets.

It should be noted that they are the ones who are most exposed to these conditions because of their height they directly perceive the heat coming from the ground, even more so when it is concrete, so when walking for several hours without water or food, they are prone to suffer heat stroke.

It is through the report made by citizens to the number 072, that the personnel of the ecological patrols arrive at the place to pick up the animal and take it to the Sanitary Landfill, where they are buried to avoid any source of infection if the corpse is left exposed.

Hence, through the campaign For your health, be safe with the water, these living beings are also included through containers where water is placed for them, however the places where they are found are insufficient to serve all the points of the city.
