A multiple-vehicle collision in the direction of the Mexican capital led to the reduction of lanes, specifically at kilometer 45.

This Friday, June 14, the authorities of Federal Roads and Bridges of Revenue and Related Services (CAPUFE) reported a serious accident on the Mexico – Puebla highway that caused its closure for more than five hours.
In the last minutes of June 13, at 11:53 a.m., they announced a multiple rear-end collision in the direction of the Mexican capital that led to the reduction of lanes, specifically at kilometer 45.
However, it was not until 5:15 a.m. this Friday that circulation was finally reestablished.
Despite this, long lines and traffic in the area continue.
On social media, road users have complained about the hours they have spent stranded.
What happened on the Mexico – Puebla highway?
The reason for the closure was a collision of several vehicles. According to reports and videos on social media, the scene resulted in a disaster with several parts and pieces on the road, as well as completely crushed cars.
A trailer that was apparently traveling at excessive speed collided with a passenger bus and other vehicles at the San Marcos toll booth, towards Puebla
The retaining wall collapsed and caused it to go in the opposite direction, towards CDMX. Firefighters, Red Cross and Civil Protection from the State of Mexico and Puebla attended the scene.
Some lanes have been opened. Although there is already traffic, it is still limited. The vehicles are no longer stranded, but they are still very slow.
However, neither CAPUFE nor the National Guard or any other authority has reported any number of injured or dead.
