NBA excitement is once again coming to Mexico as the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Zignia Live announced that the 2024 NBA Mexico City Game will feature a matchup between the Miami Heat and the Washington Wizards. The regular season game will take place on Saturday, November 2 at the CDMX Arena.
This announcement was made during the first-ever NBA House in Mexico, an interactive event for fans during Game 4 of the 2024 NBA Finals presented by YouTube TV. The 2024 NBA Mexico City Game will be the league’s 33rd game in Mexico since 1992, more than in any other country outside of the United States and Canada.
The event will coincide with traditional local celebrations of the “Day of the Dead,” which will be reflected in various activities at the arena during the game, including a specially themed basketball court, as well as initiatives that will engage fans around the game.
The Miami Heat, who will play their third game in Mexico, feature standouts such as six-time All-Star Jimmy Butler, three-time All-Star Bam Adebayo and 2023-24 Kia NBA All-Rookie First Team member Jaime Jaquez Jr.
The Washington Wizards, who will play their fourth game in Mexico, feature talented players such as NBA champions Kyle Kuzma and Jordan Poole, along with 2024 Panini Rising Stars selection Bilal Coulibaly. Additionally, the Wizards have the second overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft presented by State Farm.
The 2024 NBA Mexico City Game will be broadcast live in Mexico on ESPN and NBA League Pass, and will reach fans in more than 200 countries and territories via television, digital media and social media. In addition to the game, the NBA and its partners will carry out community outreach initiatives such as NBA Cares, Jr. NBA/Jr. WNBA and interactive activities that will engage youth and fans in Mexico City.
Fans can register to receive access to an exclusive ticket presale, taking place on Wednesday, July 10 and Thursday, July 11, with tickets going on sale to the public on Friday, July 12.
