
With seven one-person shows, the 19th Festival of Monologues. Theater in One Voice, will be held in the state from July 11 to 17, thanks to the collaborative work of the Ministry of Culture, through the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), through the National Coordination of Theater, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Michoacán (Secum).
The head of the agency, Tamara Sosa Alanís, shared in a press release that this festival aims to articulate a program of one-person stage proposals in the country and promote access to the cultural rights of the population. It will be held in Pátzcuaro, at the Dramatic Center of Michoacán (Cedram), and in Morelia at the Foro la Ceiba and the Melchor Ocampo Theater, with free admission.
As part of the central circuit, the monologues Miedo come todo…sueño al vuelo will be presented at the Cedram on Thursday, July 11 at 5:00 p.m.; Sabueso, on Saturday, July 13 at 5:00 p.m.; El príncipe feliz, on Sunday, July 14 at 5:00 p.m. In addition, Cuatzimiro can be enjoyed in Morelia at Foro la Ceiba on Friday at 7:00 p.m.; and at the Melchor Ocampo Theater at 7:00 p.m. there will be the one-man shows Ifigenia en Orem, Parrot contestatario and Corazón de mantou, on July 15, 16 and 17, respectively.
The festival began on June 22nd in the north-south circuit in Tijuana and the central circuit begins on June 29th in Colima, then passes through Jalisco, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Leon, Guanajuato, Michoacan, Puebla and Veracruz. On this occasion, Michoacan has two representatives: the Vaso Teatro company with the monologue “El niño del agua” who will tour the North-South circuit and the Los Weros Teatro company with the monologue “Parrot Contestatario” who will tour the central circuit.
