On the morning of Thursday, July 11, a music school located on Plaza de la República Avenue in Mexico City (CDMX), right in front of the Monument to the Revolution, suffered a surprise eviction that left furniture and instruments unprotected on the street.
Unfortunately for the owners of this school material, thieves took advantage of the absence of the capital police to steal several of the instruments that were left on the avenue, which unleashed a moment of tension and concern for students and teachers of the school.
The Fuerza Informativa Azteca (FIA) team went to the site to report what happened and talk to one of the teachers, who said he was surprised by the event, since he arrived to teach and found all the furniture outside.
“I saw a boy doing a robbery, luckily there were already people from the media and they called the police,” said Braulio Saucedo, one of the teachers who has had his activities interrupted and is waiting for those responsible for the music school to arrive.
Which school was evacuated in Mexico City?
The music school in question is the Fermatta University Music Center, located in a building on Plaza de la República Avenue, right in the vicinity of the Monument to the Revolution. It is a very famous school, with branches in various areas of the Mexican Republic and which is presumed to be the “number one in professional music education in Latin America.”
The teacher interviewed said he arrived around 6 in the morning and found all the furniture outside, so the eviction occurred in the early hours of Thursday, July 11.
What instruments were on the street of the Fermatta University Center?
In the images captured by FIA, you can see not only keyboards, drums and string instruments on the street, but also chairs, computers, chargers and furniture in general of the music school, since it was the entire building that had to be evacuated, even without official information on the reasons.
Regarding the attempted robbery, officers managed to prevent the theft by a hooded man, so more CDMX police officers were summoned to the scene, since the value of these instruments is thousands of pesos.
