The bodies of three people, two men and a woman, were found on Tuesday morning in the trunk of a public service vehicle, near the highway that leads to the tourist port of Acapulco, in the southern Mexican state of Guerrero, in the midst of a wave of violence that is shaking the state.
The discovery was reported to the 911 emergency number, so different corporations went to the place, located on a dirt road parallel to the Autopista del Sol, where the taxi marked with the economic number 450 of the Oatich organization, from Chilpancingo, was located.
The area located in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood was cordoned off for the first proceedings; workers from the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed that there were three decapitated bodies, tied by the hands and feet with signs of torture, which were transferred to the Forensic Medical Service as unidentified. There was also a message on a cardboard.
Taxi drivers from that organization arrived at the scene to find out more information about the driver of the vehicle, about whom nothing is known yet.
So far there is no information from the FGE, nor a position from the public transport sector, which in February of this year stopped work due to acts of violence that left at least five drivers dead.
In 2023, public transport in the capital of Guerrero was also paralyzed due to acts of violence, which are attributed to disputes between organized crime groups.
The events occur after the federal government reported that May, before the June 2 elections, was the most violent month of the year, with 2,657 homicides, of which Guerrero accounted for 676, the eighth highest figure of the 32 states in the country.
