Army personnel, as well as the National Guard, are deployed throughout the state to implement the DN-III-E Plan and the GN-A Plan in case of any hydrometeorological phenomenon during this rainy season and tropical cyclones.

If necessary in the event of any emergency, in the 11 municipalities there is a total of 1,200 Army personnel and 1,400 National Guard personnel, with the necessary equipment and material for any contingency.

They also maintain permanent coordination with state, municipal and civil protection authorities, to assist the civilian population during this rainy season.

In light of the forecast from the National Meteorological Service (SMN) indicating that this year there will be a fairly active tropical cyclone season, with between 15 and 18 cyclones expected in the Pacific alone, while in the Atlantic the figure could range between 20 and 23, the Army has the Plan DN-III-E tool that provides general guidelines for the Mexican Army and Air Force to carry out assistance activities in disasters of natural or man-made origin.

Since its creation, the Plan DN-III-E has been essential for the coordination and execution of emergency operations, reflecting the country’s response capacity to disasters and its evolution to face ever-increasing challenges. (SIM Agency)
