The driver’s license is a mandatory document for all drivers, whether they drive a private vehicle or a service vehicle, whether public or cargo transportation. In addition, it serves as an identification tool and carrying it with validity will prevent you from being subject to a traffic fine.

Where to process a permanent driver’s license in CDMX?
The permanent driver’s license in Mexico City can be processed in different places in the capital. One option is the mobile modules of the Ministry of Mobility (Semovi) where applicants are attended to as they arrive, while the other options are the fixed modules of Semovi and the mayor’s offices of CDMX, where an appointment must be made in advance.
The hours of operation in mobile and fixed modules are from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. While in the municipalities it is from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
