Ejidatarios de Pachuca anuncian mega bloqueo

A group of ejidatarios from Pachuca announced that they will close traffic on several roads that connect the capital of Hidalgo with other municipalities and states. The mega blockade will take place on Thursday, August 15th starting at 8:00 a.m.

The protesters are seeking a response from the authorities and personnel of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) to their requests for information on the construction of the Tula – Tuxpan pipeline, a project that, according to the ejidatarios, has invaded a large part of the plots in the town of Santiago Tlapacoya.

The protesters say that they have requested in writing an explanation of the possible effects that the project could cause them, but have not received a response.

Which roads will be affected by the mega blockade in Pachuca?

The farmers announced that they will close traffic on a section of the Mexico-Laredo highway and on the Pachuca-Actopan road, but it is expected that more farmers will join the protest, closing other exits from the capital of Hidalgo.

Given the lack of information, the protesters have sent a letter to the president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, requesting that he intervene in the request for information.

Given the possible mega blockade, the population has been advised to avoid the main access routes to Pachuca or take alternate routes during the day, since the road closures will cause an increase in travel times.
