In the framework of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the founding of the National Port System Administration (Asipona) of Tampico, the First Great Race will be held in Playa Miramar, in the municipality of Ciudad Madero, on September 21. An attendance of 2,000 runners is expected.
Asipona staff and organizers of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the arrival of this decentralized public organization to the port of Tampico reported that this will be the First Great Race with the title “Inclusive for the 30 Asipona”, to which they invite the community in general to participate.
Distances in which competitors may participate
Those who register for this athletic competition may run, jog or walk in three distances: 2.5 kilometers, 5 kilometers and 10 kilometers, depending on the section in which they wish to compete.
The categories will be women and men in 5 and 10 kilometers, seniors in 2.5 kilometers, as well as inclusive and children in the same distance.
Where will the Asipona Tampico race take place?
The athletic race will take place on the third Saturday of next September at 7 in the morning. The circuit will include Plaza Gobernadores-Escolleras-Playa Miramar, and the organizers will design the sections that each competitor will run according to their registration.
The cost of registration for this athletic event will be 100 pesos. Those interested can purchase their ticket at the Asipona Tampico offices, at Klass Sport in its branches in Galerías Altama and 3 Arcos, as well as at Pinturas Prisa.
Two thousand runners are expected to attend
For this First Great Race entitled “Inclusive for the 30 Asipona”, the participation of at least two thousand people is expected. Each of them will be given a medal, and the first three places will be awarded.
Prior to the athletic race, other important activities will take place within the framework of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Asipona Tampico, such as the inauguration of an art exhibition.
This event will take place in the building of the old Tampico Customs from the morning of Friday 20th to Sunday 29th September, and will be open to the general public from 10:00 am.
