The summer vacation season in the Magical Town of Orizaba closes with a significant increase in the number of visitors and an important economic spillover for the entire tourism sector, said Fernando Trueba Coll, coordinator of Tourism in the city, in an exclusive interview.
He mentions that the cable car continues to be the anchor attraction and, during these vacations, he registered the ascent of almost 2,500 people to the Cerro del Borrego ecopark, per day.
Although he did not provide a figure for the number of visitors who have come to the city, because the school holidays have not yet ended, he highlights that the increase in the number of visitors has been very noticeable.
And it is that not only tourists from the interior of the state arrive, but from the North, Center and Southeast of the country, from abroad and even the Orizabans themselves take time to visit the attractive places, taking advantage of the school holidays, said the interviewee.
He said that from abroad, the United States is the country that brings the most visitors, but they also come from Colombia, Spain, Canada, Guatemala, Cuba, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Venezuela, Belize, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador, among others.

The cable car, he points out, continues to be the reference that marks the influx of visitors, because it does not matter if they come alone, as a couple or as a family, this attraction is a must to see and enjoy the ride and the view it offers during the ascent.
He said that all the tourist sites in the city receive visitors because each one has something that people like and attracts.
Now, he exemplified, going up the cable car is faster, so they have more time to take a tour of Casavegas, the slide, the planetarium, Poliforum. “People have more time to enjoy.”
He points out that the arrival of tourists always generates a significant economic spillover that permeates all sectors: transportation, food, people who sell products, services, everyone benefits, even shoe shiners.
Once the summer vacation period ends, next Sunday, attractions such as the cable car will receive maintenance.
“We always do maintenance before and after vacation to keep it in good condition,” he said, adding that the cable car will receive maintenance from August 27 to 29.
