The general director of the Housing and Fomerrey Institute, Eugenio Montiel Amoroso, announced that 1,127 homes will be built on residential lots in the Hacienda San Miguel Subdivision, in Escobedo, which will have all basic services.
Monterrey, NL. The arrival of foreign companies through nearshoring accelerates the demand for housing. Therefore, the Housing and Fomerrey Institute together with the JR Real Estate Agency, began the start of work on 1,127 homes on residential lots, in the third stage of the Hacienda San Miguel Subdivision, in the municipality of Escobedo, Nuevo León.
The work in the San Miguel Subdivision, which is in its third stage, will be developed during the next 12 months and will have all basic services: water, electricity, drainage and urbanization, said Eugenio Montiel Amoroso, general director of the Housing and Fomerrey Institute.
For his part, Luis Javier Fernández, director of JR Inmuebles, explained that two types of housing are being built: the Atenea type, one-story, approximately 50 square meters, and the Jade type, two-story, approximately 70 square meters.
The homes will be marketed through the National Institute of Housing for Workers (Infonavit), by granting credit to its beneficiaries.
“Governor Samuel García instructed the Housing Institute to establish the Pact for Social Housing, with the purpose of coordinating actions between the three levels of government, due to the fact that our state is experiencing a high demand for housing, especially economic housing, as a result of nearshoring,” said Montiel Amoroso.
Montiel Amoroso thanked the municipality of Escobedo for facilitating the permits for the construction of these homes; the JR Real Estate Agency for joining the construction and urbanization work and the Infonavit for creating synergy to offer the state subsidy of the HogarEs program.
I especially thank the state governor (…), because he has provided the institutions under my charge with the financial support required for these works and it is worth saying that two previous state administrations had not granted it to the issue of housing,” he mentioned.
New housing program
The new housing program of the president-elect Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo will allow Nuevo León to advance in solving the issue of abandoned housing through leasing, he stressed.
“We have structural reforms of Infonavit on the horizon that will allow us to advance on other issues, to resolve abandoned housing through leasing schemes. For us, this reform is a matter of high priority to which we from the Executive Branch will put special emphasis on achieving it, once the approval process in the Congress of the Union is concluded, and it is transferred to the State Congresses,” the public official added.
