Pilot Strike to Affect Campeche Flights

The International Airport of Campeche announced that approximately 270 passengers would be affected due to the strike maintained by pilots.

Three airline connections at the International Airport of Campeche on October 3 would have effects due to the start of the strike by operators of the Association of Pilots Aviators of Mexico (ASPA), as stated in information issued by personal from the “Ing. Alberto Acuña Ongay”, after announcing that, in general, 270 passengers would be affected.

The flights with operational codes SLI 2440, SLI 2441 and SLI 2443, which are arrival or departure flights operating between the Campeche Airport and Mexico City International Airport (AICM) “Benito Juárez”, would have effects.

It is worth noting that the aeronautical effects would not only be for Campeche, as pilots of ASPA primarily operate with Aeroméxico airline, so according to information from the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), the effects would be on over 500 flights on October 1.

Despite this, there was no announcement in the September 30 air activities, meaning that there is no information from the mentioned company announcing possible aeronautical operations affected on October 1, so travelers from Campeche can take their respective precautions.

It should also be noted that the strike on October 1 is promoted in search of a salary increase higher than six percent offered by Aeroméxico to its employees. Nationally, it is pointed out that the strike arises from various negotiations where ASPA requests a salary increase, taking into account inflation and the additional effort made by pilots over the past years.

“Mexicana de Aviación”

Elements of Transportes Aéreos Regionales (TAR) company, which has collaboration with Mexicana de Aviación, stated that they would operate normally. They offer four arrival and four departure connections at Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA).

Mexicana de Aviación – TAR would offer two connections on October 1, a morning arrival in Campeche at 8:00 am and the start of operations for return flight to AIFA after 8:30 am.

It was also added that their operations would continue normally throughout the rest of the week, meaning there would be no cancellations on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, or Sunday.
