After the inauguration of Governor Margarita González Saravia, the identity symbol of the Government of Morelos from 2024-2030 was changed. The new design has a historical meaning that we will tell you about below.

The new administration also has a new motto: “The land that unites us”, which honors the name and legacy of Emiliano Zapata who defends the right to freedom and land.

What does the new symbol mean?

This new image is composed of the colors green and brown, in addition to two key elements:

Quetzalcoatl: Symbol of wisdom and renewal, it represents the work of the peasants whose hands work the land.
Corncob: The unity between the 36 municipalities, the food and source of income for many Morelos families.
This is how two Quetzalcoatl divinities cover the corncob with their body, representing the work of the population and its origins from the pre-Hispanic, agrarian and Zapatista culture and history.
