During the first two full years of Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero’s government, in the state of Nayarit, the crime of robbery in all its forms increased by 25 percent, going from 1,370 to 1,713 investigation files between the years 2022 and 2023.
According to the information collected by the Executive Secretariat of the National Public Security System, of the total number of complaints filed for the crime of robbery, 321 corresponded to home theft, 450 to vehicle theft, and 229 to business theft.
For the following year, of the 1,713 investigation files opened for this crime, 386 were for home theft, 542 for vehicle theft, and 287 for business theft. In all modalities, the classifications of with and without violence are included.
The Navarro Quintero administration, from the National Regeneration Movement, Morena, started in September 2021, a month that ended with 53 reports of theft in the state.
By October of that year, the number of reports for this crime increased to 78 cases, and in November it registered another increase, with 81 investigation files, then falling to 58 cases in December 2021.
According to the Secretariat’s figures, so far this year, between January and August, 967 investigation files have been opened in Nayarit for theft.
The year started with 151 investigation files for this crime, in all its forms, with and without violence; in February 131 reports were filed, in March there were 130 files and in May 124, these being the four months with the most reports of theft this year.
