A “terrifying” scene shook the residents of the municipalities of Montemorelos and Linares, in Nuevo León, where the presence of human remains scattered along a long stretch of the National Highway between both towns was reported.
The motorists reported the macabre discovery to the authorities: human parts scattered along the road; a leg, an arm, a torso in a cooler, as well as a head crushed probably by a cargo vehicle.
This bloody event caused the deployment of a strong police operation, and the road was closed in some sections in the low-speed lanes.
The search radius extended several kilometers around, since the human remains were scattered from Linares to the entrance of the Monte Sur Subdivision, in Montemorelos.
It is estimated that the remains belong to three people, whose sex is still unknown. What the authorities have released is the message recorded on the coolers that contained the remains: “This is for you, Chimuelos.”
Although the investigations are preliminary, the evidence indicates that it may be a settling of scores or threats between criminal groups, according to ABC News.
On the other hand, within the framework of the Metropolitan Operation in Monterrey, the Coordination Group for Security in Nuevo Leon recently captured eight alleged generators of violence, after two suspicious vehicles were detected. It is unknown if both events are related.
