Navy Rescues Mazatlán Fisherman After Kayak Capsizes

A fisherman in Mazatlán was rescued by Navy personnel after his kayak capsized due to waves caused by a departing tourist cruise ship. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening near the dock of the Playa Sur subdivision, according to the Mexican Navy.

The fisherman was working on his kayak when the waves from the cruise ship caused it to capsize. Navy personnel aboard the UNAPRO-82 vessel and a panga named “VEGA” quickly responded to the scene.

The Navy team successfully rescued the fisherman, who did not require medical attention. The prompt response ensured the safety of the fisherman and highlighted the Navy’s readiness to handle such emergencies.
