“The Two Laredos represent a region of logistics and commercial excellence. Nuevo Laredo is not only the most important customs office in Latin America, but also a strategic pillar for North American trade and a global reference,” stressed the Secretary of Economy of Tamaulipas, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, when participating in the Business Mission of Brazil and Colombia to the Los Dos Laredos Region.
The official highlighted as the main objective of this meeting, the strengthening of commercial ties between these countries with Tamaulipas, as well as establishing strategic agreements for future business missions scheduled for January and March 2025.
Cantú Deándar said that the transcendental aspect of this initiative, which has the full support of Governor Américo Villarreal Anaya, of the governments of Brazil and Colombia, is that in addition to there being a regional brotherhood, they are also strategic partners with whom they share common values and projects such as development, strengthening trade and building a future of shared prosperity.
In the same vein, the head of the state’s Economy said that with regard to Nearshoring, Tamaulipas is the ideal place for companies from Brazil and Colombia due to its geographic location, its infrastructure and the industrial vocation of its human capital and called on business representatives to invest in the state.
Key companies and institutions, industrial parks, shelter services, merchandise distribution centers, logistics and transportation companies, customs agencies such as Cargoquin, financial institutions such as Intercam and IBC, and municipal governments on both sides of the border participated in the event.
Economic development agencies such as the Laredo Development Corporation and the Secretariat for Economic Development of Nuevo Laredo also participated, consolidating a comprehensive representation of the region’s capabilities.
The international delegation included representatives from the Confederation of Commercial and Business Associations of Brazil (CACB), the municipality of Mogi das Cruzes, business expansion offices RAD/DF (Colombia) and ANH (Brazil).
