The Secretary of Tourism of Baja California, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, attended the Official Launch of the Winter Operation Héroes Paisano 2024, held at the facilities of the National Institute of Migration (INM) at the International Gate of “El Chaparral”, one of the most important border points in the country.
During this event, led by the INM Representation Office in Baja California in coordination with government agencies and civil organizations, an operation was launched designed to guarantee the safety and well-being of compatriots returning to the country during the holiday season.
Secretary Aguíñiga Rodríguez highlighted that tourism in Baja California is not only nourished by international visitors, but also by migrant communities returning to the state to reconnect with their roots. He stressed that, thanks to efforts such as the Operation Héroes Paisano, Baja California consolidates its image as a hospitable and safe state for travelers.
In 2024 alone, Baja California welcomed 70.43 million people through its seven border crossings, reaffirming its leadership as the gateway to Mexico and Latin America.
The Winter Operation Paisano Heroes 2024 includes joint actions, focusing on providing guidance, assistance and services to the countrymen. It also seeks to strengthen ties between the state government and the INM, especially in areas related to tourism promotion and visitor services.
The program also offers information support through the official website www.gob.mx/heroespaisanos, the 911 emergency line and the INM Telephone Service Center by dialing from Mexico at 800 201 85 42, or +1 877 210 94 69 for those calling from the United States, with attention 24 hours a day.
Likewise, the State Tourism Secretariat makes available to citizens the tourism website bajacalifornia.travel as well as the telephone line (664) 624-2020, of the Tourism Assistance Directorate to provide assistance to visitors during their stay in the region.
