In what was an event of fun and laughter due to the falls, Tampico witnessed the second botarga race organized by the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (UAT).

It was this morning of December 4, where the Olympic Field of the University became a battle arena in the middle of a pleasant climate that at least did not suffocate the botargas who gave it their all.

“This event is part of our final project of the subject of Event Organization; we do it in order to reinforce our knowledge about the areas that have to be fulfilled in the organization; in addition to giving a fun moment at the University,” said the student, Jazmin Villagrán.

This event was organized by seventh semester students of the Tourism Management and Development degree, from the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences of the UAT, under the tutelage of Professor Monica Olivos.

Who triumphed in the event?

The competition had at least 25 competitors, including famous characters, from Juancho, a Minion, a Scooby Doo and even Patrick Star, to which dinosaurs and inflatable sharks were added.

The race consisted of a series of six athletic events where there were obstacles that the competitors had to cross; each winner of the first five races qualified for the sixth round, which was the final of the contest.

First place: “El Güero”, with Abraham Cabanne being the one under the costume.
Second place: “The shark”, played by Francisco Rivera.
Third place: “Mr. Juancho”, who was played by Carlos Alberto Cárdenas.
The winner of the race received a round trip to the El Cielo Reserve in Gómez Farías.

Mr. Juancho has three races under his belt

Mr. Juancho added his third race as a mascot, he is a member of the Nutrition and Weight Control Center of Tampico (CNCPT).

“We have been participating in mascot races for three consecutive years, two with the UAT and one with the Tec de Madero; we want to win for the first time, the other two times we took third place,” explained the CNCPT team before participating in the event.

“Falling is more common than one thinks, if I fall, there is no way out, I have to get up,” added Mr. Juancho regarding the difficulties that are encountered in events such as the mascot race in Tampico.
