Although the winter holidays have just ended, it is inevitable to ask the following question: When will the next vacation be? This date is especially awaited by the inhabitants of Guanajuato who have the opportunity to enjoy a wide variety of traditional events.
An interesting fact is that according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which year after year counts which countries tend to have the longest working days, Mexico is always at the top of the list. Therefore, no one should doubt that Mexicans deserve a good rest.
When will the Easter holidays be in Guanajuato?
According to the 2024-2025 school calendar of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP) and the Ministry of Education of Guanajuato (SEG), the Easter holidays this year will be from April 14 to 25. However, since the 14th is a Monday, if we add the Saturday and Sunday before and after, the vacation will actually start on April 12 and end on April 27.
Although, this changes for high school and college students, with a bi-monthly, quarterly and four-monthly study plan, since the SEG calendar only marks one week of vacation. This would be from April 12 to 20, which would give us a total of 9 days of vacation.
Something interesting to highlight is that last year’s Easter vacation began on March 23, 2024, which means that this year the vacation will be 19 days later.
The next long weekend in Guanajuato
The SEP has reported that the next long weekend will start on Friday, January 31, since that day the teachers will have the monthly session of the School Technical Council, which takes place on the last Friday of each month.
The reason it will be a long weekend is because of Constitution Day, which is celebrated on February 5. This day has been moved to Monday, so it will be celebrated on February 3.
How long until the 2025 summer holidays in Guanajuato?
After the Easter holidays, there will be the summer holidays, which will begin on July 17 and will tentatively end on August 24, since the holidays normally end in the last week of August. However, the possibility of adding or removing vacation days is still unknown, since the school calendar for the 2025-2026 cycle has not yet been published.
Sadly for teachers, they will have to attend an intensive training workshop for teachers which would last at least until July 19.

How many school days are left until Easter break 2025?
As of January 29, 2025, there would be a total of 47 working days left until Easter break.

Which schools do not have Easter holidays?
The Secretariat of Public Education (SEP) reported last year that Aguascalientes schools would not have vacations during Holy Week 2024. This decision is due to the celebrations of the San Marcos Fair 2024, which took place from April 12 to May 5.
For this reason, the vacations of the more than 423 thousand students of the 2,240 schools in Aguascalientes were postponed until April 15 and ended on the 26th of that same month, so they returned to the classrooms on Monday, April 29, 2024.
