Nuevo Laredo allocates 1,361 million pesos for an unprecedented urban transformation

With an investment of more than 1,361 million pesos, the Nuevo Laredo City Council approved by majority the 2025 Public Works Plan, consolidating the commitment of Carmen Lilia Canturosas Villarreal’s government to the development and well-being of the city. This ambitious program prioritizes the modernization of educational infrastructure, road rehabilitation, and the transformation of the storm and sanitary drainage system.

The mayor highlighted that this plan is the reflection of an unprecedented participatory planning exercise, in which the needs of citizens were taken into account, as well as the opinions of the business sector, chambers of commerce, and expert organizations.

‘The 2025 Public Works Plan is not just a list of projects, it is the manifestation of our vision of progress. We are building a Nuevo Laredo with better public spaces, greater connectivity, and quality basic services for all,’ said Canturosas Villarreal.

The plan includes an investment of more than 150 million pesos for educational infrastructure, in which projects such as the construction of a primary school in the Valles de Anáhuac neighborhood with 12 classrooms to serve the thousands of children in the area, the construction of 6 classrooms in institutions with a high demand for students, as well as addresses will be carried out.

Also included is an important road project that will transform Reforma Avenue from September 15 to Gonzalez Ortega, which will improve traffic flow on the main access road to the city.

The Public Works program will also be financed through six strategic funds: Capufe, Branch 33, Fideicomiso del Puente III, Fondo de Hidrocarburos, Branch General 23 and the Fondo de Obra Directa.

The direct municipal works are: conservation and maintenance with an investment of 259 million 816 thousand 879 pesos, public buildings 41 million 991 thousand 103 pesos, educational infrastructure 66 million 618 thousand 606 pesos, sports 19 million 372 thousand 513 pesos, parks and squares 7 million 606 thousand 285 pesos, sidewalks 3 million 500 thousand pesos, limestone 52 million 875 thousand 365 pesos, paving 21 million 984 thousand 882 pesos, repaving 82 million 444 thousand 119 pesos, resurfacing 26 million 898 thousand 895 pesos, pedestrian bridges 7 million pesos, drinking water 2 million 361 thousand 228 pesos, storm drainage 50 million 231 thousand 213 pesos. and sanitary drainage 229 million 228 thousand 13 pesos.

This infrastructure plan not only seeks to improve the quality of life of Nuevo Laredo residents, but also to promote the economic and social development of the city, strengthening its competitiveness and attractiveness for investment.

With these actions, the Municipal Government reaffirms its commitment to the transformation of Nuevo Laredo and the well-being of its inhabitants.
