Tourist Suffers Fatal Heart Attack While Kayaking in Laguna de Términos

A tragic incident occurred in the waters of Laguna de Términos, where a male tourist, identified as Carlos Alberto Ramírez Acosta, reportedly suffered a fatal heart attack while kayaking near Isla Aguada Village. The 50-year-old visitor had traveled to the Magic Town with his family to enjoy the weekend.

Witnesses reported that Ramírez Acosta rented a kayak early in the morning to explore the islets in front of the village. During his journey, he began to feel unwell and attempted to return to shore to seek medical assistance.

Upon reaching the shoreline of Isla Aguada, bystanders observed his deteriorating condition, marked by visible distress and reports of chest pain. Paramedics from the Civil Protection Directorate arrived promptly to provide aid, but despite their efforts, Ramírez Acosta passed away.

The Civil Protection team confirmed the absence of vital signs, and experts from the Forensic Medical Service were subsequently notified to handle the removal of the body. The incident underscores the importance of health precautions when engaging in physical activities during travel.
