The Mexico City (CDMX) Sunday Ride “Move by Bike” celebrated its 18th anniversary this Tuesday, the Ministry of Mobility (Semovi) reported.
32 million users have participated in 673 editions, riding bicycles, roller skates, or on foot.
The first edition, held in 2007, covered 10 kilometers along Paseo de la Reforma and was attended by approximately 6,000 people.
Now, the average attendance is 110,000 users per edition, covering a 61-kilometer route that passes through the Reforma-Historic Center and Roma-Condesa corridors, as well as sites such as Chapultepec Park and the Olympic Pool, among others.
It is an institutional activity that promotes sustainable mobility and encourages physical activity among residents. “It is also a benchmark for recreational cycling internationally,” Semovi said in a statement.
Currently, the Sunday Ride passes through nearly 59 neighborhoods in the following municipalities:
Cuauhtémoc
Miguel Hidalgo

Coyoacán

The current attendance record is 126,307 riders, which was set in March 2025.
