With the summer holidays approaching, Rosarito City Hall’s Director of Verification, Emanuel Gárate Bojórquez, stated that efforts are being made to prevent unlicensed vendors from operating during this period, considered a peak tourist season.
The official explained that while beach vendors must have a federal permit to operate, they must also have a municipal permit to pass inspections. Therefore, a verification program will be launched to prevent “swimming” vendors from arriving during this season to sell their products.
Reorganization
Gárate Bojórquez mentioned that efforts have also been made to reorganize the vendors on the beach so they don’t congregate in a single location, such as the bar-club area, where the highest sales are believed to occur.
He added that in addition, activity at the street markets is being reorganized. While their leaders have a concession to work on designated streets, order must also be guaranteed at the various locations where these markets are located.
