Zacatecas prepares to host Charros de Acero in the 2025 season.

The Government of Zacatecas presented the activities for the Charros de Acero 2025 Season event, which will take place from June 27 to 29 at the Monumental Lienzo Charro de Zacatecas “Antonio Aguilar Barraza.”

This event marks the beginning of the five-year celebrations of Charros de Acero, with the participation of outstanding teams that will face 14 representatives from various regions of the country, including Campeche, Hidalgo, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, Oaxaca, and Zacatecas.

The first phase of the 2025 season promises exciting competitions that will culminate on Sunday, June 29, with the final of the 2025 Zacatecas Cup, where the top three teams from the qualifying round will compete for the coveted title.

Significant attendance is expected, with the expectation of receiving around 15,000 people over the three days of the event.

In a meeting with the media, Le Roy Barragán Ocampo, Secretary of Tourism, emphasized that Zacatecas is poised to host the next National Charro Congress in 2026, consolidating its position as a benchmark in this traditional sport.

He mentioned the variety of events taking place this weekend in the state, including the Diablo Castellanos Basketball Tournament, the Copa por el Bienestar, and Charros de Acero, which will enhance the entertainment offering and encourage citizen participation in sports activities.

Humberto Herrera, director of Charros de Acero, highlighted the positive response to this sport from Zacatecas fans, emphasizing the close relationship and deep roots that charrería has in the local community.

This will be the fourth edition of Charros de Acero in Zacatecas, further strengthening the bond and appreciation for this tradition.

The program of activities includes competitions between teams such as Pitallo 8A, 3 Regalos, Tlalixtac, Villa Oro, El Diamante, Rancho el Secreto, Amigos Unión Laguna, Aguascalientes JG, Tamaulipecos, Hierro Santo, Cuneca del Papaloapan, among others.

On Saturday, June 28th, various competitions will be held, culminating with an Equestrian Show, led by Diego Herrera, at 11:00 PM, which will offer a unique spectacle for those in attendance.

This event is organized by the Herrera family, who have distinguished themselves over the years by offering authentic and traditional experiences.

Exclusive presale tickets for all three days cost 500 pesos and are available at Western WF in Guadalupe, Río Grande (Galerías Zac.), and Looks del Centro Zacatecas.
