Paving work has begun on the Camino Viejo to San José section, covering a total of 2.1 kilometers with the construction of four lanes, sidewalks, green areas, and a bike path. The first phase will cover 637 meters and is expected to be completed in approximately 150 days, with alternate routes enabled to facilitate mobility during the process.
Committed to the development and progress of the municipality, the mayor of Los Cabos, Christian Agúndez Gómez, led the start of paving work on the section known as Camino Viejo to San José, in the municipal seat, with an investment of $67,300,000 pesos, benefiting 23,716 residents.
The mayor emphasized that this project is part of the strategy and programs focused on optimizing mobility and infrastructure conditions in different districts. He explained that for the 15th Los Cabos City Council, improving roadways is a priority.
Likewise, he emphasized that in addition to this project, work is being done on the management and implementation of public policies to consolidate more paving projects in the municipality.
“We need solutions for mobility; we are proposing more roads and will continue to do so. Through the FAIS, there are 14 more paving projects that are strategic to clarify the mobility issue in the municipality. We are bringing very important projects that will be announced later, such as the interurban axis, for which support will be requested from the Federation. We will strive to finalize a broad portfolio of projects to bring all possible solutions to our citizens of Los Cabos,” said Agúndez Gómez.
For his part, the head of the General Directorate of Public Works and Human Settlements, Christopher Enríquez González, explained that the comprehensive paving project of the Camino Viejo to San José covers a total area of 2.1 kilometers, including the construction of four lanes, sidewalks, curbs, green areas, and a bike path. In its first phase, the works will cover an area of 637 square meters.
He also noted that the project is estimated to be completed in approximately 150 days and that alternate routes have been established to connect to Centenario Avenue, the Guaymitas neighborhood, Vado de Santa Rosa, the Santa Rosa Fundador neighborhood, and the Lienzo Charro de Zacatal.
The kickoff ceremony for these works was attended by Municipal Trustee Nélida Alfaro Rosas; IMPLAN Director Beatriz González; Council Member 3rd, Andrés Liceaga Gómez; Council Member 5th, Jesús Alberto Alvarado Aragón; Municipal Comptroller Mario Alejandro Fernández Briseño; Director of Social Development Carlos Castro Ceseña; and Chief of Staff Guillermo Sánchez Flores, among other officials.
