At least 400 members of the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) are providing support to the population affected by Tropical Storm Barry in the state of Tamaulipas.
In coordination with Civil Protection, personnel from the Emergency Response Brigade (BRE) are removing debris, dredging roads, and delivering food and drinking water to various locations in the state.

In a press release, the Navy indicated that the deployed personnel have specialized tools, vehicles, and equipment, allowing them to operate effectively and safely, ensuring direct assistance to the population, and joining forces for the speedy recovery of the affected areas.
The Navy indicated that 400 naval personnel have been deployed for this operation. They comprise the Emergency Response Brigade (BRE), comprised of personnel from the First Naval Region (based in Veracruz), the First Naval Zone (based in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas), and the Tuxpan Naval Sector (based in Tuxpan). They are working together and in a coordinated manner to address the priority needs of the population.
The Navy Plan, in its recovery phase, emphasized that its main objective is to restore basic living conditions and services in the affected areas, as well as to support the cleanup, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of damaged public areas and homes, in coordination with authorities from all three levels of government.
In addition to operational efforts, the Semar (National Maritime Service) has set up temporary medical care units, offering general consultations, medication distribution, and assessment of patients with respiratory or gastrointestinal conditions or minor injuries caused by the natural phenomenon.
Mobile community kitchens, operated by naval personnel, have also been set up and are preparing and distributing hot meals daily to dozens of affected families who are in temporary shelters or whose homes were severely damaged.
