The U.S. Embassy in Mexico warned U.S. citizens about the anti-gentrification demonstration in the capital.

It also asked U.S. citizens to avoid participating in the social movement.

“U.S. citizens should avoid participating in demonstrations that authorities may consider political, as Mexican law prohibits political participation by foreign citizens, and their participation may result in detention or deportation.”

“On July 4, a demonstration took place in the Roma and Condesa neighborhoods, where some members vandalized property and threw rocks at people perceived as foreigners.”
When will the second anti-gentrification march take place?

The second anti-gentrification march will take place in the southern part of Mexico City and will aim to protest against areas highly affected by global tourism.

The social mobilization will take place on July 20th at 3:00 PM.
