Civil Protection reported an accident that occurred this Monday morning at kilometer 128 of the Durango-Mazatlán highway, near the 97 Coscomate Toll Plaza, forcing the road to be temporarily closed.
The accident involved a rollover collision involving a trailer, which subsequently caught fire. The vehicle was a white and red T5 Internacional 2024 tractor-trailer belonging to a supermarket company, traveling toward Mazatlán.
Although the trailer caught fire and blocked both directions of traffic, no injuries were reported.
It is worth mentioning that personnel from the monitoring subdirectorate immediately responded to the scene, coordinating with the National Guard and the El Salto, Durango, firefighters to control the fire and safely remove the vehicle.
Cosomate Toll Booth Remains Closed
Additionally, support was requested from Toll Plaza 97 Coscomate to alert users about the closure to Mazatlán.
Traffic heading toward Durango is being diverted at kilometer 172 as a preventative and control measure.
