The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) arrested priest Mario ‘N’ for his alleged responsibility in the crime of sexual abuse against two minors in Atlacomulco, where he allegedly committed sexual abuse between July and August 2023.
Alleged Child Abuse
According to the FGJEM, the incident occurred in a building in Atlacomulco, where the priest allegedly assaulted the victims, ages 8 and 13. On July 27, he groped both minors, and on August 19, he repeated the assault against the 8-year-old boy, in addition to beating him.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
The complaint was filed with the state prosecutor’s office, which began an investigation. Almost a year later, the priest was arrested in Jiquipilco, another municipality in the north of the State of Mexico. He is currently being held in the El Oro Penitentiary Center, under the jurisdiction of the Judicial Branch of the State of Mexico (PJEM).
