Once again, and against all predictions from the doomsayers and professional haters of Mexico and its sovereignty, the Mexican government, led by President Claudia Sheinbaum, has managed to escape the decadent onslaught of tariffs imposed on the entire planet by the Donald Trump regime for the next few months.
While Canada is slapped with a 35% tariff on products not covered by the USMCA, India, a top 10 power in the world, a 25% tariff, and the European Union a 15% tariff, Mexico is evading the already boring and increasingly ineffective threats from Trump and his entourage of under-resourced and degenerate viceroys.
This is the new reality: “globalization” and the unipolar world are dead, and imperialism is defending its preserves of power and plunder like the cornered and sick beast that it is.
Even so, and with the heavy burden of depending on our neighbors and “friends” to the north for over 80% of our exports, in addition to our nation’s unfortunate geopolitical position, we managed to weather the storm better than other countries with greater pretensions of importance and hubris than Mexico.
