The US company Green Corridors announced a $17 billion private investment in strategic projects in Texas and Mexico, strengthening cross-border trade and logistics connectivity.
The agreement was formalized with a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by Samuel García, Governor of Nuevo León, Víctor Treviño, Mayor of Laredo, Texas, and Mitch Carlson, Executive Director of Green Corridors.
Industrial Projects to be Developed in Texas
Thus, in the US, the plan includes the Talise Project, with $8 billion to develop 13,000 acres (52.6 km²) at the intersection of I-35, US-83, and TX-255. This industrial hub seeks to optimize the strategic location for ground transportation.
In addition, the Gateway Industrial Park, covering 3,300 acres (12.4 km²), will also be built in the area of I-35 and TX-255.
Both developments are part of Green Corridors’ strategy to accelerate the flow of goods in the region and meet the logistics demand between Mexico and the United States.
Where will Green Corridors’ logistics base be located in Mexico?
In Mexico, Green Corridors will establish its base of operations at the Salinas Victoria Interport. Governor Samuel García emphasized that this investment will be integrated into the state’s infrastructure expansion, driven by the Colombia Bridge and the future Tren del Norte (Northern Train), which will transport passengers and cargo.
Currently, the crossing through the Colombia Bridge increased from 800 daily operations three years ago to 10,000. Projections indicate that by 2030, this figure could reach 20,000 daily crossings, consolidating Nuevo León as a key hub for international trade.
Tren del Norte and logistics technology
Likewise, the Saltillo–Monterrey–Nuevo Laredo Passenger Train subsection, part of a presidential project, will advance in parallel with Green Corridors’ investments.
The MOU also includes coordination in infrastructure planning, trade facilitation, and collaboration on the Intelligent Cross-Border Freight Transportation System being developed by the company.
Finally, as part of the agenda, the state delegation visited Wisdom Industrial Park in Laredo, where they held a meeting with its owner to explore new development and investment opportunities.
With this alliance, the region is expected to strengthen its position as a leading logistics corridor in North America.
