Governor Rubén Rocha Moya stated that the travel advisory recently issued by the United States for cities in several states exempts the ports of Mazatlán, Los Mochis, and Topolobampo (municipality of Ahome), key cities for tourism in the state. This acknowledges the growing confidence that local, national, and international tourists can continue visiting these destinations in Sinaloa.
“The important thing to highlight now, as a positive aspect of this case, is that Mazatlán has practically lifted the “warning,” because it is now stated that travel to Mazatlán, Los Mochis, and Topolobampo is allowed,” the state governor stated, after mentioning that this travel advisory had previously been in place for this important sun and beach destination.
He also emphasized that each country has the right to make recommendations for its citizens, and that both Sinaloa and the other Mexican states included in the alert respect each country’s decisions and policies. He also emphasized that, despite the warnings from the American government, Mazatlán has seen an increase in domestic and foreign tourism.
Security, proximity, and assistance guaranteed
It should be noted that in Sinaloa, security, proximity, and assistance operations, specifically designed by the three levels of government, have been maintained in these key cities. This has been demonstrated by the Carnival festivities, as well as the Easter and Summer vacation periods, in addition to other social gathering activities, which have all been carried out without incident.
