After a five-hour hearing, former federal legislator for Morena, José Luis Flores Pacheco, was charged with theft and placed at the disposal of the Federal Control Judge.
Flores Pacheco will face his criminal proceedings in freedom, periodically appearing at the Precautionary Measures Unit to sign his signature. He was also ordered not to leave the state of Campeche without the judge’s authorization.
After a series of statements, the judge charged him with theft of documents, which he allegedly took from the facilities of the Secretariat of Citizen Protection and Security in March 2024, during the police demonstration that year.

At that time, the police base was occupied by the then-State Police, who were protesting the failed operation at the San Francisco Kobén prison.
Because José Luis Flores Pacheco was a federal legislator at the time of the alleged theft, the Control Judge declared his incompetence and referred the case solely for unlawful use of powers and authority to the Federal Control Judge, who must determine his final legal status.
