Proof of weeks contributed to the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS): what it is and how to apply for it

229

The proof of contribution weeks is a key document for any worker affiliated with the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS). With it, you can find out how many weeks of work have been recorded in your name, verify that your employers have made the corresponding contributions, and verify your registered salary.

This proof is not only useful for reviewing your employment history, it is also essential when it comes time to apply for a pension or prove your seniority.

Ways to obtain the proof

There are two ways to process it, and both are free:

Online

Go to the IMSS Digital Services page.
Provide your CURP (National Identity Document), your Social Security Number (NSS), and an email address.
The document will be sent directly to your email.

In Person

Go to your corresponding IMSS branch office, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Present your CURP (National Identity Document), and a valid official ID. With either of these two options, you’ll be able to access your employment history registered with the IMSS and have the necessary proof for future pension procedures or verification of entitlements.
