Today, the Mexican monsoon, a mid-level trough over the northwest of the country, and atmospheric instability will bring showers and heavy to very heavy rains to Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, Sinaloa, and Nayarit. Furthermore, a low-pressure trough over the interior of Mexico, combined with an upper-level trough and the movement of Tropical Wave No. 27 over the west of the country, will cause showers and heavy to very heavy rains in that region, as well as in northeastern, central, southern, and eastern Mexico, with occasional heavy rains in Guerrero.
Simultaneously, Tropical Wave No. 28, associated with a low-pressure area with the potential for cyclonic development, interacts with another low-pressure trough in southeastern Mexico. Heavy to very heavy rains will occur in the aforementioned region and the Yucatán Peninsula, with occasional intense rains in Oaxaca and Chiapas.
Finally, a hot to very hot environment will prevail over northern Mexican states, states along the Pacific coast and the Gulf of Mexico, as well as the Yucatán Peninsula. The heat wave will prevail in areas of Jalisco (south and southwest), Colima (center, east, and south), Michoacán (southwest and south), Guerrero (southwest and south), Coahuila (center and north), Nuevo León (south), Tamaulipas (west and south), and Oaxaca (south).
All forecasted rains could be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail.
