A federal operation at a residence in the Urbivilla del Cedro neighborhood of Sinaloa ended with the discovery of a high-powered arsenal and a large amount of chemical substances resembling synthetic drugs.
According to official reports, the home had been under surveillance by the Army and the State Preventive Police after suspicious activity was detected. Armed with a warrant, members of the Attorney General’s Office, accompanied by forensic experts and investigators, entered the property.
Inside, they found 37 firearms: 25 automatic rifles, five pistols, five machine guns of various calibers, as well as a Barrett .50 caliber rifle and another machine gun of the same caliber. Also seized were 59 ammunition magazines and at least 100 live rounds of 5.56 x 45 mm ammunition, along with four tactical helmets.
The discovery was not limited to the arsenal. Authorities also found five bags containing 150 kilos of a white powder resembling methamphetamine, as well as two 80-liter drums of a liquid substance similar to the drug.
All the material was placed under federal custody while the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) opens the corresponding investigation file.
