This Sunday, August 31, 2025, the Zacatecas Attorney General’s Office confirmed that the body found in San Luis Potosí belongs to Aida Karina Juárez Jacobo, a searching mother reported missing days ago. Her family identified her before the San Luis Potosí Attorney General’s Office last Friday, August 29, according to El Universal.

The agency also reported on the progress of the investigation into Ada Karina’s unlawful deprivation of liberty. So far, two people have been arrested: Ángel Antonio “N” and Juan Reynaldo “N,” who have already been charged and face arrest warrants for aggravated kidnapping.

Clash of versions between authorities and demands from collectives
The official confirmation comes after a public dispute between the Zacatecas government and the San Luis Potosí Attorney General’s Office. On Thursday, Zacatecas Secretary General Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza announced the murder of Ada Karina, but San Luis Potosí Prosecutor María Manuela García denied this story, clarifying that the autopsy was completed Thursday night and that the legal identification of the body had not been performed at the time of the announcement.

This announcement sparked outrage among groups of searching mothers, who questioned the lack of rigor and respect on the part of the Zacatecas government in disseminating information lacking legal certainty.

Operations, searches, and key findings in the investigation

The Zacatecas Prosecutor’s Office explained that the case began after a 911 report about the illegal deprivation of Ada Karina. Operations were deployed in Guadalupe, Vetagrande, Pánuco, Trancoso, Villa de Cos, and on the way to Aguascalientes. Security camera recordings were obtained that show the exact moment of the kidnapping and the involvement of a motorcycle and a white Journey van.

After identifying the vehicle’s route and license plate, searches were conducted at homes in Guadalupe and Trancoso, where handcuffs, a ballistic vest, a cell phone, firearms, narcotics, and clothing were seized. Genetic evidence (DNA) of Ada Karina was found in the altered van, confirming her connection to the crime.

Trafficking and drug network linked to the case

The investigation also revealed the location of commercial establishments related to human trafficking and drug sales, which led to six simultaneous searches and the arrest of two additional individuals, currently under investigation.

Four telephone lines were tapped, three directly linked to the victim and one related to the initial report. All data is being analyzed by specialized personnel.
