The summer vacation period generated 80 percent restaurant occupancy in Mazatlán, revealed Roberto Osuna Valdez.

The president of the Mazatlán National Gastronomic Council stated that summer was better for the restaurant sector than Holy Week and Easter.

He commented that seafood restaurants, palapas on the boardwalk, and rural restaurants were highly visited during the vacation.

“In Mazatlán, there are reports that restaurants reached up to 90 percent occupancy, especially those located near the Mazatlán letters. The boardwalk varied greatly depending on the area, and in rural areas we reached 70 to 80 percent on weekends,” he said.

Osuna Valdez commented that Mazatlán has a wide variety of offerings, and what matters here is the quality of the service and the products used to prepare the dishes.

He indicated that the area was visited primarily by diners from Mazatlán, second in the state, and third by visitors from Durango, Torreón, and Monterrey.

The president of Conagam indicated that the holidays are over and they will now prepare for the “national holidays” and continue promoting Mazatlán in its natural market.
